Frequently Asked Questions
Are admissions requirements different for veterans or military students?
Xavier’s admissions process evaluates each prospective student on an individual basis. We understand that military service results in a unique set of experiences and skills, so we take military training and life experience into account when evaluating student veterans. We also have counselors at the Xavier Center for Veterans Affairs who will meet with any student veteran individually to learn more about his or her background and application.
Do student-veterans have to take entrance exams?
No, student-veterans are exempt from entrance exams and/or placement tests when they apply to Xavier.
What transcripts are required?
To be admitted as a student-veteran at Xavier University, you must provide your high school transcripts or GED and transcripts from any college classes you have taken.
If you are seeking college credit for military training, please provide your ACE credits as well.
Can I apply for other financial aid if I am using my VA education benefits?
Absolutely! Xavier’s Center for Veterans Affairs and Office of the Bursar have resources to help you identify any and all financial aid you are eligible for. Remember that the first step is filling out the FAFSA as early as possible.
